The story behind Joy in Every Stitch
I never set out to write a book. To be honest, I never planned to become a knitter either — so this project is a pretty good reminder that you never really know where life will take you. I started knitting in January 2020, when a yarn shop called Woolpoint opened in Prague. At the time, I was simply a customer. Today, I’m one of the co-owners — but back in January 2020, I was just someone who completely fell in love with knitting. I knitted constantly. With every new project, I learned something new, and each one quietly nudged me toward a future I couldn’t yet imagine. Over time,…

Why I chose to sell patterns on Ravelry (and the book on my website)
I’m often asked why my individual knitting patterns live on Ravelry, while my book is available directly through my website. The short answer is: updates, accessibility, and community. Ravelry offers a system that works exceptionally well for individual patterns. It allows me to easily send updates, corrections, and notifications to everyone who has purchased a pattern — which is especially important when patterns evolve over time or receive small refinements. For now, they’re available on Ravelry, but my plan is to gradually offer selected patterns here on the website as well, once the updated versions are ready. I’m also reaching out to yarn shops around the world to see whether they might be interested in stocking my book. If you know a local yarn store that you think could be a good fit, I’d love to hear about it — feel free to…

Winter strips things down to what really matters: light, texture, patience. Over the years, photographing my knits in winter has taught me more than any perfectly styled summer shoot ever could. Here are a few lessons winter quietly teaches you about photographing knitwear. 1. Winter days are short — plan earlier than you think Golden hour in winter comes fast… and leaves even faster. What feels like “plenty of time” can disappear in minutes, so planning becomes essential. I’ve learned to scout locations earlier, prepare outfits in…

Things I’m taking with me as a knitter into 2026
The turn of the year always makes me a little reflective. Not in a new year, new me way — more like a quiet inventory of what actually works, what I’ve learned the hard way, and what I want to carry with me a bit more intentionally. So here are a few things I’m taking with me as a knitter into 2026. This community The kind, thoughtful, quietly supportive one. Knitting can be a solitary craft, but it never really feels lonely. The encouragement, shared excitement, gentle advice, and honest conversations are a huge part of why I keep coming back — both to my needles and to sharing my work. This sense of…
