Gauge
30 st & 40 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 x 4 in on 3.25 mm (US 3) needles in 1×2 twisted rib in the round, washed and blocked (keep the yarn from the swatch in case you run out while knitting)
Needles
- 2.75 mm (US 2) circular, 25 cm / 10 in cable for hem (alternatively, use DPNs or a long circular needle for the magic loop method – these will be necessary for finishing the thumb).
- 3.25 mm (US 3) circular, 25 cm / 10 in cable for mitts (alternatively, use DPNs or a long circular needle for the magic loop method – these will be necessary for finishing the thumb).
Yarn
- One 100g skein of fingering weight yarn for both Basilisk mitts and hat (35 grams / 130 m / 145 yd for the mitts, 65 grams/ 240 m / 267 yd for the hat)
